
Day 1 – Begin your Wild Atlantic Way journey with us!
The drive from Kinsale to Schull takes approx. 1.5 hours by car and 3 hours by bus with the opportuity to stop along the way.
Kinsale is the starting point of the Wild Atlantic Way and is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful towns in Ireland. We have two properties located in the centre of Kinsale- The Blue Haven Hotel and The Old Bank
Townhouse – the perfect spot to discover the town on foot.
After check-in, take a walk through the colourful narrow winding streetscape, explore the collection of unique and independently owned boutiques and art galleries. Join a walking tour and discover the fascinating history of Kinsale and the surrounding areas. Stop for lunch at The Old Bank Townhouse Café and enjoy a comforting meal before setting off for the afternoon to discover Charles Fort, the 17 th centuary star shaped fort set on the edge of the harbour with panoramic views of the town and across to The Old Head of Kinsale. End your day with an evening at Rare, our fine dining restaurant at The Blue Haven Hotel. Choose from a 5 or 7 course tasting menu and be prepared to discover mouth watering dishes, crafted with care using the freshest local ingredients. The team will cater to your every need and ensure that this dining
experience is one you will not forget. Follow this up with a night of live music in bar or at our sister property Hamlets Bar where you can choose from a selection of local craft beers & ciders, whiskey, cocktails or an extensive wine list.
Day 2 –
Start your day with a gourmet breakfast and delicious coffee before trying out surfing, SUP, Kayaking or sailing from one of the many local providers or stay dry and take a foraging and culinary tour of Kinsale or sample some of our locally produced Kinsale Mead. A trip to Kinsale is not complete without a visit to the Old Head Signal Tower and Luisitania
Museum. Take in the breathtaking views of this rugged and wild coastline by bike, on foot or by car.

Day 3 –
Hop in your car and head for Schull! En-route, be sure to check out Timoleague Abbey. If you fancy whale and dolphin watching, take a short de-tour to Courtmacsherry where they offer tours from the harbour. From here, enjoy a drive through the rolling countryside to Clonakilty. This beautiful town has so much to offer – take a walk, play in the sand or enjoy a surf on the famous Inchydonny Beach, visit the Model Railway Village or the Michael
Collins Centre before heading further west.
The next spot to check out, especially if you are travelling with a family is Roscarberry. There are some stunning beaches in this area, Owenahincha and Warren Strand that are worth a visit, as well as The Lagoon Activity Centre and Smugglers Cove Activity Centre.
Before reaching your final destination, its worth while stopping in Ballydehob. This small village, just 5 minutes from Schull is packed with award winning eateries and artisan craft makers. So if food is your vibe, then take some time to explore this little gem.
Finish your day by checking into The Schull Harbour Hotel. A warm welcome awaits you at our seaside property where you can enjoy an warm Irish Coffee or craft cocktail before bed.
Day 4 –
Wake up in the laid back peaceful village of Schull and enjoy a tasty breakfast in our dining room with views of the atlantic ocean. For those who love to shop, Schull is filled with quirky and unique stores offering locally made produce and crafts. West Cork is an eclectic mix of being traditionally Irish yet uniquely cosmopolitian so expect to be surprised!
Probably one of the most spectacular experiences when you visit West Cork is Mizen Head and the Fastnet Lighthouse. Fastnet is the tallest and widest rock lighthouse tower in Ireland and Great Britain and was a monumental achievement when completed in 1904. For ships crossing the Atlantic it is often the first, or last, sight of Europe. This 54m high lighthouse, situated on the remote Fastnet Rock in the Atlantic Ocean is the most southerly point of Ireland and lies 6.5 kilometres southwest of Cape Clear Island.
